Angel at St. Sebastian cemetery in central Salzburg

Cemeteries are a big deal in Austria - many people have seperate bank accounts for saving money for an appropriate tomb. The peak of the tomb culture was reached in the Imperial Period of the 19th century, when most of the particularly pompous graves and tombs of St. Sebastian Cemetery were created. The area around St. Sebastian and Linzergasse Lane is very nice for relaxed walks off the main crowds of people: Linzergasse is full of specialist shops beyond sourvenir stores and has nice cafes and bars to offer.
