Salzburg Photos: Winter Sun in the City
return to "winter
photos 2"

A picture taken during a rare opportunity: A particularly cold winter 2009/2010
"bound" a lot of water in the form of ice and snow far upstream in the mountains.
Therefore, the Salzach River became a creek, exposing half of the River Bed. Our
photographer used the opportunity, hiked to the middle of the river bed and took
this stunning photo of the Altstadt (Oldt Town)
with the Fortress Hohensalzburg,
a few spires and the Mozartsteg bridge. On the way back, our photographer fell
due to slippy ice issues, broke the UV filter attached to his camera (luckily
without harming the lens underneath) and hurt his knee. Thinks that it was worth
it, though.
