A statue at the Mirabell Palace in Salzburg

A statue of a Greek warrior guarding the entrance of the Mirabell Gardens. The gardens and park of Schloss Mirabell Palace are open to the general public, entrance is free of charge. That being said, some sections of the extensive gardens are closed during the winter, at least after heavy snowfalls. Snow adds a special look to the artificial approach that the Baroque age had to nature. You are most likely to encounter snow after Christmas, in January and February; these are the coldest months in Salzburg. Note our guide to "when to go to Salzburg" for further advice.
