Salzburg Photos: View on Skiing Regions
return to "winter
photos 2"

This picture was taken from a mountain on the northern edge of the Alps,
overlooking the city of Salzburg and allowing some glances to the south. Once
you leave Salzburg City and dive into the mountain scenery to its south, you
will soon get to the more "family friendly" and less cowded skiing regions of
Dachstein West, the Tennengebirge and the
Lammertal. "Serious Skiing" starts in
the Ski Amade regions, most importantly those of the
Salzburger Sportwelt, but
also in Obertauern, the
Hochkönig area, the
Großarltal and the
Gasteinertal
Valleys. The other "hearlands" of the Salzburg skiing regions are accessed via
Germany, the most important ones being the
Skicircus (which includes
Saalbach-Hinterglemm and
Leogang) as well as
Zell-am-See/Kaprun.
