Salzburg Photos: Paragliding on the Gaisberg

Mount Gaisberg is a mountain belonging to the Osterhorngruppe mountain range. It is a very easily spotted from the city of Salzburg because of the radio and TV transmission station on the summit, which comes with a huge, red and white antenna. The Gaisberg is not only one of the first proper mountains at the doorstep of Salzburg, it is also well-known in the area for strong thermic upstreams. This creates the perfect conditions for paragliding, enjoyed in this picture on a crisp day in January. The Alps are in the background, the central mountain range on the horizon are Tennengebirge and Hagengebirge.
