This market stand in Salzburg sells Christmas ornaments. There are several markets in the city of Salzburg, the most famous one is clearly the Christmas Market in front of the Salzburger Dom Cathedral. This is in fact where this picture was taken in December 2009. In addition to such seasonal events, there are frequent farm markets held in various parts of the city. The most famous farm markets of Salzburg are the Schranne and the Grünmarkt, in front of the Kollegienkirche Church and the Kirche St. Andrä respectively. Note that markets are often rather expensive; they are nice for getting local food and certain special delicatessen, but ordinary groceries of comparable quality are generally cheaper if bought in supermarkets.
