This picture was taken from Mount Gaisberg, a mountain at the doorstep of Salzburg that grants plenty of opportunities for things to do: Hiking, paragliding, mountain biking or simply enjoying the stunning view on the Salzach River Valley, the City of Salzburg and the Alps south of it. Most of the Gaisberg is a nature reserve and an important recreational area for the locals. In case you are considering to go there during your stay in Salzburg: No problem! There are public busses that run from the city centre to the summit of the Gaisberg all year round. Ask at the tourist information centre for further details and please note that the Gaisberg busses don't run very frequently. You don't need to book a ticket in advance, but plan ahead for when you are going there.
